UNWEAVING 

Textile sculptures

By methodically unweaving woven textiles, pulling them apart thread by thread, I find beauty in the process of stripping away. What remains are delicate hand shaped and painted textile sculptures. In some cases after the textiles are taken apart, I sew them back together - a healing of sorts. In others, I’ve embedded the fragile remnants into a hand cast resin block, creating an object that encapsulates a suspended reality - the materialization of an instance in time.
