UNFOLDING

Through a repetitive process of running a randomly folded piece of paper under the printing press, unfolding and refolding it, then running it through the press again, I capture multiple images on the same page. After the folded paper is compressed under the weight of the press, it becomes an enigmatic puzzle to unfold the squashed origami, wet with ink. I feel a pleasant sense of anticipation similar to unwrapping a gift or a package. The continued experience of surprise and delight has fueled this ongoing series.
